Hurricane Ike is Coming
Hurricane Ike is coming,
sucking moisture out of air,
breathing stifling stillness.
Hurricane Ike is coming,
storing toward Texas coast
Highways run one way - away.
Hurricane Ike is coming.
School is out. We flood
stores for bottled water,
batteries, chocolate.

We board windows,
secure garbage cans,
hurricane Ike is coming
We hold onto each other
lie restless in our beds,
Hurricane Ike is coming.

What a dreadful hurricane seems to be nearing Texas. My thoughts and prayers are with everyone there as Ike rampages. Hoping no lives are lost.
