I went to bed early with discipline to get rest but a storm woke me - constant rumbling of thunder and flashing lightening. I usually love storms, but this one scared me, felt too close. My heart beat fast and my hands shook. I even pulled a quilt into the hall in case of tornados. I'm usually not that fearful, but tonight I was truly scared. We've had rain now and the thunder andlightening have almost stopped. I'll go back to bed now. <strong>

Don't feel silly: a TON of people I've talked to were spooked by last night's storm (and we had golf ball+ sized hail so it was a doozy!)

Mama,

I just saw on the news that the area from Exposition to 183 nearish Koenig was the hardest hit. That schools were closed and people are still without power. That there is even a shelter open for people with no power....

So I think you were justified to feel freaked.

I well understand your fear, Victoria. I have a weather radio, feel so much better in the middle of the night (or even the middle of the day) having it. If there is a "warning" of any kind, it will go off and I can act instantly. You weren't foolish at all to take a quilt into the hall. I have spent time in the basement during such storms.
