Warning: Change Required

I'm doing it again - avoiding bed - got to stop it. I have so much to post about our time at the beach - today wild beach exploration , yesterday a tender, productive time writing with BOb's students. But now sleep - and I'll give you a treasure my friend Peggy wrote, which I believe is true, true, true.

I stand on the walkway
by the bluff-top park
rolling toward
laughing tongues
of blue Pacific and
dental white foam.
I love this place, to sit
and listen to gulls,
the children, a happy
dog with its ball. I am
struck by a sign near
one of the meters,
Change Required.

What a beautiful poem. At the beach I often think of how it changes so richly moment by moment, but also how unchangeable the sea and sky and sand are, having played the same dramas for millenia.

Glad you had a good time at the beach as well as some time with Bob's students! I always enjoy Peggy's work.

Thank you so much for posting my poem! I am thrilled to have people comment. You are free to post the link to my poetry blog whenever you post one one of my poems. I can't quite figure how to get it right now to put it here though! I am not quite the blog geek I guess!
