For an encouraging (to me at least) glimpse of President-elect Barack Obama's dreams for his own daughters and all our children, check out this link: http://www.parade.com/export/sites/default/news/2009/01/barack-obama-letter-to-my-daughters.html.

In the same vein - my Martin Luther King Jr. quote for the day is about his dream for his children. We all know this quote, but it seems especially relevant with Barack Obama about to take the Presidential oath.

I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin, but by the content of their character.
Martin Luther King, Jr.

I do think that Martin Luther King's quotation must really resonate with Barack Obama. If only Martin Luther King had lived to see what has come about in this country some years later in the election of Barack Obama...

I sometimes find it hard to believe how openly racist the country was such a relatively short time ago--MLK. Bravo for our country for moving ahead.
